A record number of Conservation Bursaries were awarded by the Anna Plowden Trust's Trustees at their recent meeting thanks to the generosity of many funders who have helped increase the funds the Trust has available for bursaries.

Seventeen bursaries have been awarded to individuals who will be studying on 12 different conservation programmes at fifteen institutions.  Specialisms to be studied include: stained glass, textiles, paintings, books and paper, archives, archaeological collections and ceramics.

The Chairman of the Trust, Susan Palmer OBE, said "we are delighted that we can help so many people to realise their ambition to pursue a career in conservation. It is wonderful that we have been able to award more bursaries this year than ever before and this is entirely thanks to the generosity of trusts including the Dulverton Trust and Garfield Weston Foundation, as well as the increasing number of companies in the sector that are sponsoring the Anna Plowden Trust, such as Willards Conservation".

Bursary applications are considered once a year, usually in May. The deadline for applications for 2015 will be announced on this website early in the New Year.
